Grievance Officer

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, every organisation that processes personal data must designate a Grievance Officer to address privacy-related concerns. If you believe your data has been mishandled, this is the person to write to.

Officer details

Name
Rajneesh Jain
Role
Founder & Grievance Officer, MECULS
Postal address
Delhi, India
When writing, please include your registered email address, a brief description of your concern, and any reference numbers or screenshots that help us locate the relevant data. This helps us respond faster and more accurately.

What you can write to us about

You can contact the Grievance Officer about any concern relating to your personal data on MECULS, including:

  • Requesting a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correcting inaccurate or outdated information in your profile
  • Withdrawing your consent for any specific processing activity
  • Asking for your account and data to be permanently deleted
  • Raising a concern about how your data is being used or shared
  • Reporting suspected misuse of MECULS by another user
  • Any other privacy-related question or complaint

Many of these can also be done directly inside your account, under Settings. The Grievance Officer is here for anything that can't be resolved through self-service, or for formal complaints.

Our response timeline

We take privacy concerns seriously. Here's what you can expect after you write to the Grievance Officer:

Within 48 hours
Acknowledgement. We confirm we received your grievance and assign it a tracking reference. If we need additional information from you, we ask for it at this stage.
Within 30 days
Resolution. We investigate and respond with a decision or action. For complex issues that need more time, we tell you why and give a revised date — but we will not leave you without an update.
After resolution
Closure. If you're satisfied, we close the grievance. If not, we explain your escalation options (see below).

If you're not satisfied with our response

If we fail to address your grievance within the timelines above, or if you disagree with our resolution, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India, the regulator established under the DPDP Act, 2023.

Details of the Data Protection Board, including its current contact information and complaint procedure, are available on the official Government of India publication once notified. Until the Board is fully operational, you may also reach out to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
